2015-2016 Grant Recipients

Since 1999, Komen Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias has invested over $3 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our 59 county service area and over $800,000 in national research grants.  This fiscal year we were able to provide over $150,000 in grants to 5 organizations throughout the service area to enact programs to help decrease death rates due to late stage diagnoisis. The Breast Cancer Screening program provides educational material on breast health, early detection and screening.  Provides financial assistance to patients needing a mammogram, diagnostic, ultrasound or surgical consultation.

Breast Education and Early-detection Project (BEEP) mission is to “Eradicate Breast Cancer as a Life-Threatening Disease in the Mississippi Delta area by Advancing Education and Early Detection. BEEP provides breast care and screening for low income, uninsured or underinsured in the Delta area.

The BCCP program privdes screening mammograms, and diagnostic services, if indicated. To assist in reducing gaps in or duplication of services, a hybrid patient navigation program model incorporating community outreach, assisting with financial support, and reducing barriers to care.
