How to Apply for Community Grants

The promise of Susan G. Komen® is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, Komen Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias has invested more than $170,000 in 5 local community programs. The Affiliate funds non-duplicative, community-based breast health education and breast cancer screening, diagnostic, and treatment projects for the medically underserved in our 59 county service area in Mississippi. In addition to funding local outreach projects, Susan G. Komen® runs one of the most innovative, responsive grant programs in breast cancer today. Our Affiliate is proud to have contributed more than $50,000 toward research in 2013-2014.

Applications for the new fiscal year starting April 1, 2016 will be accepted for breast health or breast cancer screening, treatment, education, or support project in our service area starting November 30, 2015 for the fiscal year April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. Projects that specifically address the objectives outlined in the “Funding Priorities” in the application will be given priority.

Attendance at a grant writing workshop and GeMS training is required for all applicants.  A Grant Writing Workshop for the 2016-2017 grant cycle will be hosted at the Komen Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias office in Jackson, MS and Gulfport, MS on:
